On June 20th and 21st, Oklahoma Aerie/Auxiliary 4070 and the 4070 Eagle Riders hosted
the 7th Annual Jimbo Moddrell rally reaing a total of $16,000 for Make Promises
Happen Camp.
Frederick, MD
GWP John Potter and wife, Zuby visited Frederick Aerie on Monday May 26th, 2008
for his very first official visit into Maryland.

Bozeman, MT
Thank you to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bozeman Area #326 for granting The American
Diabetes Association, Montana Area a $2000 grant. The grant will go to support the
American Diabetes Association, Montana Youth Retreat scholarship fund for children/teens
who need financial assistance to attend the American Diabetes Association, Montana
Youth Retreat, July 31-August 3, hosted at Camp on the Boulder.
Chris McLaughlin, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bozeman Area #326 was
a past attendee of the American Diabetes Association camp and as a youth received
scholarships from the Fraternal Order of Eagles to attend. Now as a member of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles he is able to give back by supporting the American Diabetes

Arizona
Tammy Gilbert, a charter member of East Mesa #4508, received one of eight scholarships
from the Arizona Past State Madam Presidents and Ten Year Secretaries Club during
the Arizona State Convention in June. She is studying language arts with an emphasis
in sign language interpretation.

Carlisle, PA
On Monday night, June, 2, 2008, Jake and Tana Cassell were installed as the 2008-2009
Carlisle #1299 Aerie and Auxiliary Presidents. Following the installation ceremonies,
Jake donated his hair to the Max Baer Heart Fund. He raised $900.00 for his charity
in one night.
Aurora, MO
Eagles Auxiliary 3948 presented its first annual Henry Garoutte Memorial Scholarship
to John Boatwright. "The $500 scholarship is named after a charter member of Aurora
Aerie 3948 who was avidly interested in helping our youth," said Madam Secretary
Vicki Cornelius.
John Boatwright won the scholarship after he raised $10,000 as part of his Eagle
Scout project to erect a monument in the city square honoring the two fallen soldiers
from Aurora. The monument is pictured.
Montgomery, WV
Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 1040 members Greg and Gina Pauley hosted the fourth annual
Harry White Memorial Horseshoe Tournament at their home. Businesses, individuals
and friends of the Eagles contributed food and door prizes for the all day event
that raised $2,814 for the American Diabetes Association in memory of Harry White.

Port Charlotte, FL
The last Labor Day Blow-Out sponsored by Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 3296 resulted in
a donation of $15,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. The day-long
event featured breakfast, a car awash, auction, luncheon, jewelry sale and raffles,
according to Madam President Claire Achey.

A total of $3,000 was raised by members of Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 4354 who participated
in the Poker Walk for the Fisher-Titus Mammogram Fund. Alice Martin organized the
event for the Eagles.

St. Marys, GA
Members of Eagles Auxiliary 4379 presented Grand Madam President Margaret Cox with
a donation of $1,000 for her special project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
in Memphis, when the Eagle leader visited recently. Another $500 donation went to
the American Eagle Foundation in Pigeon Forge, TN.

The Greater Cincinnati Cystic Fibrosis Foundation received a donation of $1,000
from Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 407. The check was presented to Annemarie Barnett by
Worthy President Russ Proffitt and Madam President Tammy Feltner.
Fairless Hills, IN
Fairless Hills, PA Dannita Veter of the Alzheimer's Research Foundation accepted
a donation of $1,500 from Eagles Aerie 2489. Presenting the check were Past Worthy
President Tom Parsons, Past State President Ken Witt,a nd State President John Domer,
and joining them for the occasion was Grand Worthy President John Potter.
Maryland
From all over Maryland, members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles came together in
Frederick to participate in a Bowl-a-Thon to benefit the State Presidents' humanitarian
charities. State Auxiliary President Tammy Payton has selected Alzheimer's Respite
Program for Western Maryland as her project, and State Aerie President James Jenkins
has selected the John Hendron Smith program, which assists Eagle members in distress.
The first ever Bowl-a-Thon was an overwhelming success, raising over $13,600. A
special thank you to the Patty Paladis Fund for providing the bowling alley. After
the event, members and guests enjoyed a banquet at the Aerie 1136 in Brunswick.
Clinton, MO
Children's Mercy Hospital's Cardiac Unit received a donation of $5,945
from Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 3667. The money was raised at a special fundraising
event that drew praise from The Clinton Daily Democrat, which hailed the Eagles
in an editorial for always being "among the very first to step forward and volunteer
their financial help, membership, and Aerie home as a location for a fundraiser."

Rochester, NY
Thanks to members of Eagles Auxiliary 52, babies born prematurely at area hospitals
have "premie hats" to keep them warm. The hats are knitted by members of the Auxiliary
and donated to the hospital. Also knitted by the Sisters are lap robes that are
donated to area nursing homes.
North Vancouver, BC
Eagles Auxiliary 2638 donated $3,000 to the North Vancouver Hospice Campaign. Madam
President Sandra Sudsbear (l) presented the check to Judy Savage of the Lions Gate
Hospital Foundation. The money was raised at weekly bingo staffed by the Auxiliary,
reports Madam Secretary Jeanette Gregg.
Winter Springs, FL
Winter Springs, FL Residents of Lake Mary Health and Rehab received a special
visit on Thursday, March 20, 2008. Members of the Seminole County Eagles Aerie and
Auxiliary arrived to present residents with Easter baskets and brought along Peter
Cottontail (Trustee Patrick Beers).
Empty Easter baskets were provided to Aerie/Auxiliary 4449 members and filled by
individual members. This was a three week project that brought members together
on Wednesday evenings to receive their basket, decorate and fill their basket and
finally a group trip to the local nursing and rehabilitation facility. The facility
was selected because of members who have family residing there and members who have
used the facility for rehabilitation purposes.
Mr. Beers jokingly offered to play the role of Peter Rabbit for the Aerie holiday
party and trip to the nursing facility if there was a costume for him to wear. Members
secretly pitched in, located the costume and presented it to Mr. Beers.
Lockhart, FL
On May 31, Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 3643 held a Murder Mystery Dinner Play, "The Mafia
Murders," to raise money for the Golden Eagle Fund's Alzheimer's project. A Casino
Night followed. A total of $2,750 was raised.
Abilene, KS
On May 31, Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 2934 had a benefit for member Sonia Roe, who was
diagnosed with cancer. The event consisted of a 110-mile motorcycle ride, food,
raffles, auction and a dance. A total of $6505 was raised. "Hats off to all our
Aeries and Auxiliaries that participated in this worthy cause," said Trustee Cindy
McDowell. "We would also like to thank and acknowledge all who donated, worked and
gave of themselves in order to help Sonia through her ordeal."

Rush City, MN
Eagles Aerie 2663 donated an Automated External Defibrillator to the local Sheriff's
Dept. The $1,500 unit was presented to Cpl. Scott Sellman and Chisago County Sheriff
Todd Rivard by Worthy President Ron Sellers. The equipment will help in medical
emergencies involving the heart.
Rock Springs, WY
Members of Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 151 have been busy in their community, hosting
special meals, auctions and raffles to help several families who have had difficult
times lately.
One family's grandson, another's great-granddaughter, and a third family's mother
needed help with medical expenses, and the Eagles raised over $9,000 for them.
When the Amrahamson family needed help, the Eagles stepped in with a donation of
over $3,200.
North Vernon, IN
Last Christmas, Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 4097 hosted a holiday party for over 20 youngsters.
Worthy President Joe Craig played Santa, and is shown holding three-week-old Austin
Todd Holland, great-grandson of 20-year Eagle Julia Lambert.
Local Eagles filled three boxes with new toys, clothing and canned goods for Jennings
Villa Children's Home and the Ronald McDonald House, reports Madam Secretary Marilyn
Cox.
Alliance, OH
The Alliance of Churches received a donation of $11,860.69 from Eagles Aerie 2174.
It was presented by Worthy President Bob Foster, Secretary Jim Williamson and Trustee
Kenny Grimes to Betty Rush. The donation will help area senior citizens in need
of assistance.
North Portland, OR
Victims of last December's floods in Vernonia received food and supplies from Eagles
Aerie/Auxiliary 3226 and the Portland Kiwanis Club. Eagle Rick Merck and his friend
T.J. Woodland spearheaded a Spaghetti Dinner that raised over $2,000 for the cause.
The Woodland Rose Country-Western Band donated its services, and a patron at the
event kicked in an $1,000 donation.
